Q: The radio-text doesn't scroll over display.
A: For safety reasons you must activate the SCROLL function in the menu, so that the Radio-text information scrolls over your display.

Q: Security Code is not accepted.
A: The code number is incorrect. Please enter code which is printed on your radio passport.

Q: First coding doesn't function.
A: The code was not entered immediately after first start-up. Put the equipment back into the original operating conditions by pressing RESET key. Then enter the code which is printed on your radio passport.

Q: I lost my radio passport with code.
A: Due to the special theft protection system your radio has an individual code which cannot be changed easily. Therefore the car radio must be returned for decoding to the Kenwood Service Center in its original packing. Please include original invoice. After the decoding procedure you will receive your radio with a new safety passport and code, (a charge will be included for this transaction).

Q: My MASK-key does not work.
A: Please consider the following: Go to transferring the code quite closely to the IR receiver of the MASK radio (the MASK key transmits in a small angle due to safety reasons). Please check battery if the MASK key still doesn't work.

Q: I lost my MASK-key.
A: Due to the special theft protection system your radio has an individual code. Q: The radio doesn't operate anymore. On the display appears: TRANSMIT1.
A: After installation the safety code of the MASK key must be transferred to the radio. Please consider the following: Go with the MASK key directly to the IR receiver of your radio so the signal of the key will be correctly received. Transfer two times the instruction sequences by pressing the tracer on the MASK key. When the message APPROVED appears on the display, your radio is OK again.

Q: Can you re-activate the DEMO-mode of the MASK radio (from 1999 models on).
A: With the new MASK devices, the demo mode is switched off after activating the coding system. It cannot be re-activated for safety reasons.
From 2001 onwards models the demo-mode can be reselected by setting the display mode in the menu.


Q: Despite connection of cable adapter CAW-877GM, data is not displayed. (Kenwood Car Radio with Opel display: KRC-877R,KDC-8070R,KMD-PS970R).
A: After the Kenwood Car Radio was switched on you have to switch it out and on again manually in order to initialize the data output. It can take a while before the text appears on display.

Q: How do I connect my Kenwood car radio from the 2000 series to my Opel display.
A: The connection of the current car radios to an Opel display is made by separate interface. Unfortunately there is still no concrete information about the supply of the Opel interface.

Q: My CD changer has CD Text but when I load a disc, the display shows 'NO TEXT'. How do I get the text information to display?
A: You might be playing a CD that does not have CD Text encoding. CD Text is digitally encoded text information on the disc. This technology is only found on more recently manufactured CDs.

Q: I have a CD Changer hooked up to my receiver, and every time I press the source (SRC) button, the changer does not show up.
A: If you have a changer that can read CD Text, the 'N - O' switch needs to be switched to the "O" position. Make sure the changer cable is securely hooked up and not damaged.

Q: How do I turn off the disabled system indicator (DSI) on my unit.
A: -Completely turn off power to the unit. (Be sure Backlight is OFF).
-Press and hold memory presets #1 and #3.
-Turn the power on to the unit.
-Let go of memory preset #1 and #3 after the units power on.
-Completely turn off power to the unit. (Be sure Backlight is OFF).
-Press and hold memory presets #1 and #3.
